Henry Plumb was born about 1755 in Guilford, New Haven County, Connecticut. He was the son of Ebenezer Plumb and Patience Nails.

He married Caroline Landon. Caroline was born on December 31, 1757 in Litchfield, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Daniel Landon and Chloe Smith.

Henry and Caroline's children probably included:
Parna Plumb (1783, married Timothy Guild),
Patience Plumb (1790 married Erastus Landon),
Harvey Plumb (1793, married Abigail Munsell),
Augustus Plumb (1797 married Anna Huntley), and
Festus Plumb (1798, married Martha Huntley).

During the War of 1812, Harvey served in the Leeds County Militia.

Festus N. Plumb was born in Canada, November 8, 1835, son of Festus and Martha (Huntley) Plumb, natives of the United States, who moved to Canada in early life. The father was a shoemaker by trade, and remained in Canada until his death, August 4, 1844. The mother went to Kenosha county, Wisconsin, in 1857 and remained there until 1860, when she came to live with her son at Hammond. She passed away November 25, 1868, greatly mourned by all who knew her. . .
